MASTERING
AT 123
Expert human ears meet vintage valves, transformers and tape — world-class results without the premium price. MFIT accredited.
AFFORDABLE HIGH-END MASTERING
We offer a quick turnaround analogue mastering service from £50 per track for albums & EPs and £60 for singles, with one set of revisions included for free. Brett Shaw is ranked in the top 1% of mastering engineers globally by MusoAI, and we are an accredited Mastered for iTunes (MFIT) mastering house.
When I started out as a mixing engineer, I used to send tracks to the big mastering houses. Back then there was a real difference. Over the years that gap closed — to the point where artists often prefer my masters. Most of those houses still charge £150 or more, with no revisions included. That never felt right to me.
If you like the sound of analogue warmth on your mixes, you are in the right place. Utilising one of the best collections of analogue gear around, the sound of vintage valves, transformers and tape add subtle harmonics, excitement and life to digital mixes. The analogue chain may include the Unfairchild (20 Valves and 14 Transformers adding subtle warmth and harmonics), API 2500, SSL onboard compressor, two sets of stereo Pultec EQs, the Curve Bender and the Clariphonic.
Brett Shaw has been mastering tracks for fifteen years and knows the gear inside out, having worked on music that has over 5 billion streams.

WHAT DOES TAPE ACTUALLY DO?
Digital is precise. Analogue softens the edges. Tape adds a third thing — gentle compression, warmth in the low end, and a subtle saturation in the highs that the ear hears as expensive.
It's not better than digital or analogue. It's different. Some songs want the sharpness of digital, some want the punch of analogue, some want the cohesion that tape gives.
Tape tends to suit records with live instruments — indie, rock, folk, jazz, soul. Less essential on heavily programmed or electronic productions.
YOUR RECORD.
DONE RIGHT.
Mastering an album or EP is a different process than finishing a single. It's about the bigger picture — creating consistency across every track, shaping transitions, and making sure the entire record feels cohesive from start to finish.
All album and EP mastering includes unlimited revisions. We keep working until you're completely satisfied with your record.
